Summer Reading for Adults

Adult Summer Reading Program slogan
Why let the kids have all the fun?! Make the time to enjoy some reading this summer as well, and sign up for the Jones Library's adult summer reading program. With a theme of "Tails & Tales", Amherst residents are invited to set aside some time this summer to relax with a book, and explore all the things that libraries have to offer, whether it's reading materials, movies and music, or our many online offerings.

How does it work?

This summer, we are resuming our traditional summer reading program method, as the library is open again and we are able to return to our paper-based system.

  • Register to participate at the reference desk (after July 1) or the branches (after July 12) and pick up a reading log to track the books you read during July and August.  (Audiobooks count too!)
  • Read or listen to at least 3 books, and complete a book review form.
  • After August 1, return the log and book review to the Jones Library reference desk and claim your prize (a $5 gift card to Amherst Coffee or A.J. Hastings).  One gift card per participant.
  • To enter the drawing for the summer reading program grand prize, return your book log and book review by August 27 - you could be chosen to win one of three $50 gift cards for Amherst Books.

The drawing for the grand prize will be held on Saturday, August 28.

If you have questions, please contact the Reference Desk at 413-259-3096 or reference@joneslibrary.org.
