This highly reviewed novel explores the new wave of feminism in the United States. College student Greer Kadetsky is enraged when the administration declines to punish the male student who has sexually harassed her and many others on campus. She finds hope when feminist icon Faith Frank takes an interest in her and her situation during a visit to the college. Over time, she finds meaning and fulfillment working for Faith, although her relationships with her boyfriend Corey and best friend Zee, who are both fascinating characters, are at times painful. Then she faces a crisis at work and must decide how she differs from her mentor.
