Imagine you are allowed to speak only 100 words each day – a wrist counter keeps track. And something bad happens when this number is exceeded. In this futuristic United States, women have lost the right to work, to speak their minds, and girls are not even taught to read or write. Dr. Jean McClellan still cannot believe this has happened to her and her country. So when the opportunity comes, she does everything she can to reclaim her voice. This powerful dystopian novel seems eerily plausible – let me know if you liked it. Just blink three times.
