by Vincent Tirado
A love letter to the Bronx that mixes horror with social commentary written by Vincent Tirado, a non-binary Afro-Latinx Bronx native. This title won the 2023 Pura Belpre award - an award named in honor of Pura Belpre, the first Latina librarian at the New York Public Library, and the medals are given to the Latino/Latina writer and/or illustrator whose work best affirms and celebrates the Latino cultural experience. This 338-page thriller tells the story of a group of teen friends who dare to take on the "Echo Game", an urban legend centered around historical atrocities that occurred in the Bronx.
