I so enjoyed this diary of a year in the life of a Scottish bookseller in the secondhand trade. Honestly, not a great deal happens, except for lots of skewering of his often eccentric customers and deadpan descriptions of his even more eccentric staff (he laughs at himself frequently too). There are anecdotes about lots and lots of books, of course, the excitement of going to homes great and humble to purchase personal libraries, and oaths directed at Amazon and other high tech companies. What an entertaining companion.
