This exquisitely written memoir takes readers into one of the saddest experiences imaginable, the loss of a young child. The author, a Brooklyn resident and writer, shares openly and honestly the story of the death of his daughter, Greta, in an unthinkable accident. He describes the devastation that he and his wife, and their parents, shared and the very different ways that it flattened them. And he relates the long emotional journey he and his wife each took to find a way to continue living, to find joy again, and to have another child. I felt humbled and privileged to have been able to hear his words and see the resiliency that they found within.
