I spent a recent long car trip happily listening to the audio version of this novel. A work of domestic suspense that rivals those of Liane Moriarty, this novel is also set in Australia (the audio reader has a charming accent). Many women will relate to Lucy’s difficult relationship with her cold mother-in-law, Diana; a few may find themselves in Diana’s camp as she views the younger generation with disappointment. A suspicious suicide, a battle over inheritance, and deep family secrets all make this a page-turner.
