Started in 2017, "Reading the Classics with Ilan Stavans" is a book series open to readers worldwide of world classics (fiction, poetry, memoir, theater) in translation or in their original English. All are welcome to join this series of online discussions planned for the fall of this year. You can attend as many sessions as you like!

About the moderator:
Award-winning, internationally-renowned teacher, essayist, translator, and cultural critic Ilan Stavans is the publisher of Restless Books, the Lewis-Sebring Professor of Humanities, Latin American and Latino Culture at Amherst College, and a consultant to the Oxford English Dictionary. Born in Mexico, he has translated Jorge Luis Borges, Pablo Neruda, and Juan Rulfo into English, Emily Dickinson and Elizabeth Bishop into Spanish, Isaac Bashevis Singer from Yiddish, Yehuda Amichai from Hebrew, and Don Quixote of La Mancha and Alice in Wonderland into Spanglish.
