Nonfiction Book Club (ages 6-9) ONLINE

Thursday, May 20, 2021

4:30 PM- 5:30 PM

Nonfiction Book Club in partnership with The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art (ages 6-9)

Our next virtual Nonfiction Book Club will meet via Zoom on Thursday, May 20th, from 4:30-5:30 pm. We'll be joined by a special guest from the Carle to discuss two books featured in the exhibition "Picture the Dream: The Story of the Civil Rights Movement through Children's Books" curated by Andrea Davis Pinkney and currently on view at the museum. We will pay special attention to the artwork in "Sit-in: How Four Friends Stood Up by Sitting Down" by Andrea Davis Pinkney, illustrated by Brian Pinkney, and "Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut" by Derrick Barnes, illustrated by Gordon C. James. The books will be available for participants via Outdoor Holds Pick-Up. We will also provide supplies for a Take-and-Make STEAM activity courtesy of the Carle museum!

To register and learn more, send us an email (kids@joneslibrary.org). This program is for children ages 6-9. Space is limited, so sign up today!
